Today starts a new section of this blog. I have been called to India for a mission trip. I’m off to Coimbatore, India in less than 7 days - Lord willing. My destination is the Michael Job Center for Orphan Girls. In the following submissions to this blog I hope to be able to ‘keep you in the loop’ on what God is doing through me, how I’m doing with that ;-) and general observations of mine along the way.
So don’t sit back and just read this – PLEASE PRAY FOR ME NOW! Really…. I need the Boss’s judgment, His wisdom, His strength and most important of all HIS LOVE – as I go to minister to 351 children of martyred Christians. Via your comments here in this blog (see comment button below) pls let me know you’re supporting me in this. I’m excited about this journey and anxious too. I’m stepping out into a whole new area here – way out. I really can’t explain why, other than I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, this is what He wants from me, right now, right where I am, just as I am in Him today – to go.
In trying to dissuade me from going, a few good natured people have said to me, ‘Why India? If you want to help others so much, there are plenty of poor folks in the mountains, or Indian reservations right here in the US who can use your help.” I normally get these kinds of statements from well meaning folks who aren’t helping anyone themselves – regardless of the location. I’m sure if I ask those who are in the trenches, working in our mountains or reservations they’ll tell me, “God calling you to India? – GO!”
Here starts the journey. Pls excuse the poor grammar, the bad sentence structure and jumbled up thoughts. That’s me – and it’s real at least ;-) I pray that you’ll bear with me as I stumble along the path He’s laid before me and that you’ll join me on this journey as we learn what our Lord has to teach along the way.
Looking Forward!
